I agree with the Mobil 1 syn posts. Good oil. Im not gonna switch over until my 1st recommended oil chng @ 3k miles. I dont know if this is too soon but I do know you want the engine and cam to break in with dino oil 1st

 

I've been having a hard time finding Mobil 1 5w20. I've only seen it one time, at a Wal-Mart. I grabbed the only 5 qts they had in stock and did my first oil change in my truck. I have a Ford that calls for 5w20 as well. I've been running M1 5w30 in it for about 2 years.

Are others finding M1 5w20 synthetic?

 

I run Mobile 1 5w-30. As far as weight, run whatever your owners manual indicates. No reason to change it before the recommended interval.

 

5w-20 is hard to find for some reason.

 

As most of the others here, I run Mobil 1 tri-synthetic 5W20 in my hemi, ever since the first oil change. I have used it in every car I've owned in the last 6-7 years, and am very happy happy with it, other the cost......... Not sure if anyone has noticed, but here in the Detroit area, its gone from $4.65 to $5.20 and now at $5.59 a quart, in the last year. My only guess for the jump in the last couple of months is that it has something to do with the hurricanes.

 

Simple... run what the Manual calls for in the brand of your choice. No biggie.

 

5-20 is hard to find around my area too. I took mine in for warrenty work and had them change the oil. They put in Castrol Syntec blend 5-20. All 7 quarts of it.

 

yah, i run only mobil 1 5/30 in mine, but you will want to run 5/20 in yours. Mobil ! may be a little bit more expensive, but i think it's worth every penny, all the best to you

 

yeah mobile one is the way to go but the oil filter is just as important, i would recommend k & n oil filters they are the best.

 

I have a 2005 HEMI. I run Amsoil 5W20 synthetic which is available at my local Salvo Auto Parts (believe it or not)!
