I've got a 2003 2500 with the NV5600 6 speed. A while ago, it developed a noise that sounds like something has vibrated loose at the base of the stick shift lever. By moving or twisting the lever, I can make stop, but with each shift, it comes back. It shifts fine and other than the noise coming through the shift lever, no other noises and no difficulty shifting.

Before I open up the floor console, are there any surprises I might find or special pieces I might need to buy to have on hand?

I'm hoping I can just tighten something back up, but if there is something broken, it's probably best to have it on hand!
