Default Need help with new radio!!!

So, I have a 2004 Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi with the Infinity audio system in it (not sure if they all have it so I figured I'd point it out). Basically everything inside the truck is stock. All the speakers, tuner, everything. I went and bought a JVC tuner for $69. Bought my kit for it, and wiring harness. Wired everything together, put it in, and boom! Nothing. No sound on any source, not even the beeping the tuner is suppose to make. So, after calling around, I've heard that I need to bypass the factory amp or something. But I'm not totally sure what they're talking about. Anyone else who's tried to do this, can you tell me what you did to get this to work?? I want the least troublesome way and least expensive. And I'd like to keep the speakers that are in the truck currently if possible. Thanks!

What are the details of the JVC radio watts out per channel, format cd will play, model of the JVC radio.
What were you trying to do with replacing the stock radio

Do not turn on the JVC tuner again or you will blow out the stock amp in the truck. You might have already done that. The JVC tuner probably has an amp built in the radio and by wiring this the input side of the amp might be blown. If your JVC radio has an amp built in which you should find out by the details of the radio how many watts per channel output. It should be in the directions or on the box it came in.

Make sure you put an inline fuse with the new radio.

Next you will have to wire in the radio after the amp meaning bypass the amp and wire directly to the speakers.
You will first have to find out how many watts your speakers will take and how many watts the radio puts out.
You dont want to blow the speakers.
You will have to wire the speakers for the following- front right and left-rear right and left.
You will loose the steering wheel controls if you install the JVC radio.
Here is some info on wiring the radio.

Also disconnect power to the stock amp as it will no longer be used just unplug the cables going to it.
One of the plugs will be one you will need that goes to all the speakers and you can Identify by the color code listed below

replace XX with HT

That's weird. I've got a 2004, Hemi, Infinity system and I too put a JVC head unit in with harness and everything just... works? Never had an issue with the factory amp.

That's weird. All you did was put a tuner in? You didn't rewire anything?

wired nothing all. I bought my head unit, and the Metra harness that plugs into the factory harness behind the radio and into the head unit. It just... works great.
