A/C fan
03 Ram 4x4 QC 4.7 I've had truck for 10 years.
Just started to notice that the a/c seems to not work sitting still. When driving its fine, ice cold. I checked condenser fan, it is not cutting on anytime.
I swapped around relays, no help. I checked power at connector and there is 12v going into it. The fan will spin freely if you spin it around by hand.
So would I be correct in assuming the fan itself is smoked?

I was thinking about that but wasn't sure how to do it...would I unplug the connector then just take a wire from the + on the batter and touch one of the two pins down in the fan motor housing? the truck should not even need to be running?
Not necessary. since you already found 12 volts at the fan connector.
Besides, you don't want to put 12 volts on ground..that's called welding!
Make sure the fan still has ground on the other pin.
Disconnect the fan and check it with an ohmmeter. Open means dead.

Yes there was for sure 12v going to the connector. Good idea on doing an ohm check. Will let you know bud.
What are the wire colors at the fan? Should be a red wire for power, and light green/black to ground.
You should only have 12 volts on that red wire when the PCM energized the fan relay, not all the time.
