Used 06 ram 2500 inspection
Hey everyone,
I found a 2006 cummins ram 4x4 2500 for sale and was planning on buying it. I took it in for an inspection and it came back with a bunch of DTC codes. The truck ran nice when i drove it and it has 135k miles on it.
DTC'S STORED IN PCM
P0480 =COOLING FAN 1 CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN
P0488 = COOLING FAN SPEED
ABS DTC'S
C1015 = RIGHT FRONT WHEEL SPEED SENSOR
C1035 = RIGHT REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT
C103D = REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL ERRATIC PERFORMANCE
TIMP DTC'S
B1644 = REAR LEFT TURN SIGNAL CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH
P127E = FUEL PUMP CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN
B165E = PARKLAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN
B1669 = REVERSE LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT
B1468 = REAR RIGHT TURN LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH
HVAC DTC'S
B104B = FLOOR/DEFROST MODE DOOR TRAVEL RANGE TOO LARGE
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DTC'S
B2302 = WIPER MODE SWITCH INPUT CIRCUIT HIGH
B160E = TURN/HAZARD SWITCH INPUT CIRCUIT HIGH
RADIO DTC'S
B1407 = FRONT RIGHT SPEAKER OUTPUT CIRCUIT OPEN
Other notes from the inspection are below:
* FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LOCK SWITCH NOT WORKING
PASSENGER REAR BRAKE/REVERSE/RUNNING LIGHTS NOT WORKING
THIRD BRAKE LIGHT OUT
DRIVER ELECTRIC SEAT SWITCH (UP/DOWN) NOT WORKING
TRACK BAR WORN
DRIVER SIDE BALL JOINTS LOOSE/WORN
I'm trying to figure out if most of those are inactive codes or if they are active. The check engine light is not illuminated. The seller is clearing all codes and will check to see if the pop up again. I'll also bring a code reader when i go to do a final inspection before purchasing.
Do those all sound like TIPM issues, or does it sound like this thing is plagued with electrical gremlins that can never be fixed? How many ignition cycles does it usually take for codes to clear themselves?
Thanks in advance.
