Default USA to UK rear light conversion.

Hi, and warm regards to you from England.
This is my first post so please be patient.
I've just purchased a 2003 Ram Hemi which I'm having converted to run on LPG. Gas prices here run at about $7.74 an Imperial gallon whereas LPG is about $2.83. So I guess you all see my reasoning.
However, here in the UK we must have rear turn indicators in amber/orange.
Is there any rear light clusters that have the amber insted of the USA red turn signals as aftermarket parts etc?
I know what most people here in the UK do, is re-wire the turn indicator to the clear reversing lenses and put in orange bulbs.
Then fit separate reversing lights and a red rear fog light which is also a leagal requirment.
I want a nicer cleaner look though, by having everything in the light cluster and not having reversing lights dangling from my rear end so to speak
Any help would be very much appreciated. [sm=feedback.gif]
Cheers.

I was thinking about this myself. Probebly the only way is if Dodge officially exported trucks to a country that has that requirement ie: Europe, Australia, NZ etc. If they did we could order the export part number. Post up if you hear of anything.
Have you found a dealer that can re'flash the computer etc?
Cheers!

We have Chrysler dealers now here in the UK, but I havent approached them about re-flashing etc.
Will that be an issue I will need?
I have been thinking of buying a "Superchips" module so I can evaluate any error codes and also firm up my transmission shifts and remove the top speed limmiter.
BTW thanks for your input.
Cheers

I hope not! But since buying a Dodge all I seem to read about is people having troubles and needing to get a dealer to flash the computer amongst other things.
I know we have Chrysler dealers here but I don't know if they'd have software relating to our trucks seeing as they just sell Jeeps and Vipers, Cruisers etc.
Just keep my fingers crossed I guess!

I've also noticed the quotes from people talking of "flashing" etc.

I wonder if some of our more experienced American cousins, can give us the benefit of their experience?

If we save the original manufacturers programming (as I am led to believe you can) in the Superchips module, can we use this info to re-flash?

Here in the netherlands the lights stay original.
Front white and red on the back,we only have to put a red foglight on the back and turnsignals on the side of the truck(on the frontfender)

damn, I'd love to drive my truck over in Europe...I was in Italy a couple years ago and most of their cars could fit in the bed of a Ram...I can't imagine what it feels like to be charging down the road twice as big as anything else driving

you guys should take a pic of you next to a Smart car and post it

No problem, will post some pics soon. Will try and get the truck parked next to a Smart car. You do mean the small micro car don't you?

One of the reasons I bought the truck, was not for any kind of bragging rights (although that's kinda nice), but I was sick to death of driving arround in something which everybody else seems to have. A lot of the every day type of cars over here, look as though they all came out of the same jello mould.
I recently had a drive in my friends Ford 350 Dually extended Quad cab and that is really big, for the UK that is........... As I got out after the ride, I couldn't stop smilling for hours. I'd forgotten what driving arround in a Yank motor does for us Brits. I used to have a couple of Mustangs back in the day and was always wearing a permanent grin, especially after a quick blast through town.

As for charging down the road in the Dodge.....................YEEEEEHAAAAAAAA [sm=happybounce.gif]
It more than makes up for over $7 a gallon.

Also, thanks for the info Axxel.
