So since you have a 1500, it narrows it down.
I'm not 100% on the 2wd 06+, I don't think they changed the suspension setup at all for the 4x2. To my knowledge, your upper should be like mine, where you buy the whole UCA and just switch it out.

Hopefully someone with your year can chime in and correct or back me up. I know the 06+ 4x4 has different front suspension than my 05.

I know the suspension on the 3.5+ ('06 on) is different on the 4WD. The 2WD is a different animal, entirely, for any year. However, the UBJ should be part of the UCA, which is one piece.

Found this online:

It's for a 2004 RWD, but the process looks the same as a 4WD. Looking up parts for it by "2008 Ram 1500 Upper Ball Joint" shows the whole UCA. Looks like that's what you are going to have to do. It's not hard -- probably easier than popping out a ball joint.

I ended up finding this K80628 bud from XRF Chassis dot com Eliminates having to replace the entire arm.

If you have a Control Arm that's meant to be fully replaced, trying to undue that is a bad Idea. The UCA is a very cheap part anyways. I modded mine to just me greasable for longevity. But i'd never try to separate the BJ and the Arm.

I wouldn't buy ebay ball joints or uca's just because of failure warranty hassle to ship back, but when ball joints are toast on a ram 2wd usually bushings in the uca are worn as well in my 12 years of owning rams

basic question will front upper control arms from a 2005 dodge ram 1500 2wd fit a 2008 dodge ram 1500 2wd truck? are there any differences?
