Hi all. My tailgate when open is hitting the plastic on top of the bumper and putting marks on my tailgate. I starting with replacing both cables but didn't help much. Any ideas of what else I can do? I put a generator up on it a while ago as I was loading it but wouldn't think that would have bent anything.

 

Worn bushing. I do believe the mount is bolted to the truck, may just need adjusting.

 

Def check the bushings first before loosening any hinges on the vehicle. They are a PITA to get straight again.
