Default Motor replacement

Hi there, recently my hemi motor died in my 2006 ram 2500... I found a replacement off ebay that is a low miled motor ...although its out of a 1500 and was a MDS motor...The question I have is could I put a MDS hemi into my non MDS truck? I saw on top of my block that I had the MDS ports, they were just plugged with plastic plugs... can the MDS be removed from the donor engine and be replaced with my port plugs off my block?

I appreciate any and all help, and yes my dead motor is too far gone to just rebuild..

Dave

You'd have to pull the heads and replace the lifters. Regular and MDS lifters are different.

Well I may have just bid on a motor that won't work, not too sure...I just realized that the motor I put a bid on to replace my 06 ram 2500 hemi is actually out of an 09 2500 and I believe it has both the MDS and the VVT. Am I pretty much ****ed with it being VVT? I was planning to just install the motor and leave the MDS solenoids in but not have them hooked up since my 06 never had it.. I didn't realize that the 09 hemis were the first to use the VVT...

any info is appreciated
Dave

PS
I have not won the motor yet off ebay but there is 2 days left and I am the only bidder.. motor only has 60,000 miles on it

Yeah, that would be the weird truck that looks 3rd gen but has an eagle engine, definitely cancel it.
