Default Engine code problem

Last February, my check engine light came on. The code was P0404. I changed the EGR valve and everything was fine for about 9 months then the check engine light came back on. This time the word DONE appeared. I bought a code reader and when I hooked it up it displayed the P0404 code again. I was told the EGR valve might be bad so I changed it again. Any ideas about what could be the problem.

I forgot to mention that my vehicle is a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.7 hemi engine.

Could be quite a few things, from simple, to expensive... Have a look here for some ideas.

Moving this to third gen Ram section for ya too.

Welcome to DF!

Sometimes the aftermarket EGR valves just suck. Sensors, EGR, etc are things that seem to be best when OEM.
