Default 03 Ram transmission whine

I have a 03 ram 5.7 4x4 that has about 150,000 on it. I had the tranny rebuilt around 110,000 miles. It has recently developed a loud whine noise to it. It shifts and drives fine but is really annoying. I've been told that it is the torque converter going amd also been told its the tranny pump. Is there a certian part that is known to go bad causing this. Dont have the money to take to a shop again but I do have mechanical ability to fix myself if possible. Any amd all help would be great

Whine is usually the pump. Does it sound like a ford power steering pump whine?

If you plan on keeping it may want to buy a crate trans with a good warranty.

Replacing the pump is a Band aid. Depending on how severe the fluid starvation to the rest of the trans, may have other issues. Gears and clutch packs don't like to be dry.

You say about fluid starvation. The oil has never been low so how could it be starved

Just because there's oil in the sump doesn't mean it is making it in sufficient amounts to where it needs to go.
