question for a friend
My buddy at work just got a 02 QC 4x4 w/ the 5.9 , blah, blah, blah. Were there LSD on the 02s because he can't spin tire at all or is the 5.9 just not strong enough. Even applying the brakes won't do anything.
Sure LSDs were available--have been since nearly forever.
Jack up one side of the rear, out of gear, and e-brake off... see if the wheel in the air can be turned. If yes, no LSD; no--LSD.
However, with or without LSD it ought to spin the tires, though gear-ratio will have an effect, of course. A friend's stock 5.9 would do so easily, but I don't know the gear ratio--it's now history, replaced with a hemi.
All the best.

i have a 03 ext cab 4x4 with the 5.9 mine will not spin a tire or even power brake i have the anti spin with the 3.92 i think the 20" rims have alot to do with it i dont know but its got alot of power more than i need. i just wished i got more than 9 mpg
My father has a 1996 Dodge RAM 1500 QC SLT with the 5.9 and even on 16 inch rims his truck can't spin the tires... It's just an overall really ****ing slow truck, very disappointing actually compared to mine.
