I have a 4.7L engine I just pulled apart , the thing is in good order , BUT I do not have any tool to measure the bores , I got number one piston without the rings on it , slid it down the bore and got a feeler gauge of 10 thou , on the pin side the gauge slid down perfect , the thrust side there is no way it would go anywhere near fitting down , question is seeming the bores are good (no marks) and clean , should I just buy new pistons and just hone the bore ?
and where on earth can I get full float connecting rods ? every time I try to search I get e bay results ! surely there must be someone who sells after market ones ? I live in Australia , and man everyone is ford and holden addicted .
