Default 3rd gen years with less rust issues

I am looking at buying a few 3rd gen 2500's for snow removal and know that they have a rust over the rear wheel well issue.

At some point I read that 2007+ do not have the problem, or it was at least addressed in some manner.

Is this true or should I just avoid the 3rd gen and look at 4th gen?

I've had a few second gen Dodges and swore I would never buy one again due how bad they rusted, but I love the look of the 3rd gen.

You have to keep the under sides clean. Had an 04. Spent it's whole life up north, never an issue. Always rinsed the bottom.

I have an '08 1500. One side just started. I put wheel liners in but already had 33k on it when I bought it.
