My name is Patrick, i live in good old Germany and bought a 2007 Ram quadcab with the 5.7L V8.
For german cionditions, it's a pretty big vehicle ;D
Since I couldnt find any help on the german forums I thought I'd give it a try here.
My problem is, that my alarm occasionally goes off when loud cars or motorcycles drive by. Since I moved to a pretty busy town, I dont wanna annoy my neighbors. So my question is: is there a way to disable the alarm or the sensor?

I appreciate any help or advice.

Aftermarket alarm? Factory alarm shouldn't be sound sensitive....

 

I'm not entirely sure if it's the factory alarm, it honks the horn like crazy an blinks all the lights.
I think it's not the sound, but the vibration (of certain frequencies) getting it off.

 

Sounds like your truck has an aftermarket alarm system. Have a look under the dash. You may be able to find a fuse to pull out to disable it...however that may disable other functions like power door locks. You may also try not using your key remote to lock and unlock doors. Just do it like the old days and manually lock doors and unlock with key.

 

While taking a look under the dash i found a button which doesnt look too stock
Any ideas whats it for? Makes a little beep when i press it.

 

That's the valet switch. See if you can locate a part number of name brand and google to see if there is an owners manual available on line.

 

Hey guys, me again.
I couldnt find anything on the valet switch, so no idea what manufacturer it is from.
But I figured out to lock each door with the little ****, seems not to activate the alarm system. Or at least it didnt go off since I do so xD
