Default Brake Light Help?

Would appreciate any help from those far smarter than I! The "Lamp Out" light on my dash came on, and now both rear brake lights are not engaging when the brake is depressed (the brake light above the rear window works, however). The bulbs are good and the lamp socket is definitely getting power becuase it works as a tail light...just not as a brake light. A friend said theres some sort of actualizer pump above the brake peddle that may be the problem? Can anyone help?

Thanks

Kyle

Default RE: Brake Light Help?

Did you make sure they were not blown? There are two filaments in the bulb, one for running lights and the other for brake lights. If your brake light switch was not working, your 3rd brake light would not work, either. I would buy some new bulbs, clean the sockets and replace them. It will cost you all of $5 and you can always bring the bulbs back if that doesn't work, especially if you bought them from wally world.
