another resonator queston
Ok, I removed the resonator today and fired up the hemi.. Loved the sound. My question is will it hurt anything if I remove the Resonator and tail pipe and not put anything back in its place? just leave it open at he end of the muffler?
As long as the cats and the O2 sensors are in place you are good to go. Just be forewarned that it might be a little loud though. You also want to make sure that what ever you leave back there is supported as well so that it isn't bouncing and then goes to breaking and dragging down the road.
I have been wanting to do the same to mine since I put the original 40 series flowmaster on it but Dodge sates that the resonator adds an extra 8 horsepower. I have been thinking about putting a dump with a blind flnage just before the resonator to see the difference. Only time will tell.
If removing the resonator, be sure to add a length of tailpipe to get the exhaust from under the truck. You don't want hot exhaust exiting there.
Secondly, could someone who has removed just the resonator and otherwise has the stock exhaust please post a sound file?
Thanks.
All the best.

Well, that didn't work for some reason... maybe too old. I'll contact BlackAcid directly.
Thanks, again.
