Kinds new here.. I have a new to me 08 Dodge Ram 2500 4 door diesel.
What has started to happen is mainly when the truck temp is running at or close to 200 and I go around a sharp corner the truck will not shirt pass 4 gear. i will do it randomly just taking off from a light kinda fast. I had the tranny oil and filters replaced, but still having the issue. of course you can pull over and shut the truck off and open the door and restart and issue is gone for a while, but that doesn't work when pulling a camper. I read that this seems to be kinda common issue with not so common repair.. meaning it's seems to be basically start replacing things and maybe you might fix it before your bank account empty's out. i'm not looking to kill the bank account. Really needing to get this fixed as family camping trip is coming up and it will not let me pull my trailer at all. any suggestions . oh and I have not got the code yet.

 

im having same issue.. 07 3500.. if its warm outside it happens sooner or if i tow anything or put it under strain it goes into limp mode. goes from 1st to 4th and stays there till you stop again.. I had figured out that if i dont let it go past 4th i can drive it basically fine but when i go on highway and need to go in 5th and 6th its ok as long as im not giving it any pedal.. soon as i give it the slightest pedal it starts dropping down and up and then eventually goes back into limp mode 4th.. just had a new valve body and solenoid put in with higher capacity pan etc.. did nothing.. pan was perfectly clean too.. no black dust. what is up?
