Default Tie rod or what is the issue?

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 4x4 and ever since I bought it it has had this problem, but now I'm tired of it and want to fix it.

When I turn hard left at low speeds I hear a loud popping sound coming from the front left suspension area. It sounds mostly like metal on metal but is definitely loud. This popping noise also happens when going over rocks or any other larger bump if I don't slow down to almost a stop. However, daily driving is fine and I never hear the pop on normal small bumps.

From reading other forums and resources I see that it may be the tie rod causing this problem but I am not sure. What could cause this popping sound?

Tie rod, ball joint, coil spring, shock, stabilizer bar end link....need to pull a wheel off and inspect it. Could be any of those things.
