OEM Crank Angle/Camshaft Sensor backorder... Recommendations???
I am having the popular P0335 CEL code and it only seems to bother the truck when I REALLY need the truck to perform. Like when pulling my boat or a hauling things for work. I went to the dealership and they discontinued one of the sensors and the other one was on a 5 week backorder. I have heard that OEM is really the only good option because the generic sensors will fail in a couple years if you are lucky. Has anyone had to replace their recently and if so where did you get them? Are there and sponsors on this website that have quality sensors for this?
I guess no one else is dealing with the problem right now. I went ahead and purchased through MoparPartsDepartment.com and we will see if they have a backorder or not. Hopefully they have it in stock, and when i get it I do not have the "Broken Crankshaft Sensor" problem like I see was just bumped to the top. That will really blow my day
Yeah, the aftermarket cranks sensors, or, basically ANY of the critical sensors, just aren't as good as the genuine mopar sensors. I try searching by the part number, and see what comes up. Unfortunately, it appears that most of the 'top' search results ALL use the same database, as their layouts are EXACTLY the same....... I find it best to give them a call, and check stock before ordering.
I am pretty sure a new sensor will solve your issue though. My truck (granted, a 96 at the time) would run fine, so long as you didn't step hard on the go-pedal. If you did, it was misfire city....... Changed the sensor, problem gone.
