Default NewHere Fuel pump issues

Hey everyone,

I'm new I have a 06 Dodge ram 1500 5.7 hemi. I went out to start the truck the other day, and it cranks just fine but no fuel. I check pressure at the fuel rail. No pressure. Before I shell out the money for a new pump has anyone had any similiar experiences? Or do you have any advice for me? Thanks in advance.

Nick

Verify that the pump is actually the problem before simply replacing it. Are you getting power to the pump? Does it have a good ground?

Moving this the third gen ram section.

Welcome to DF!

there is a fuse on the fuse box that gives power to the fuel pump check that out first to see if it is blown or not. check cables and last check the pump to replace its not difficult search the forum or internet for fuse location and how to test as i dont remember now its a few months now for the fuel pump replacement you can lift the bed with some bricks or 4x4 wood just to lift is enough and push it back a approx a feet so you can put you hands on it. it comes from above so no need to put the fuel tank down. just make sure to get a decent fuel pump in case you need it "hope you don't need it and its just a fuse"

I would check to see if there is power to the pump. If not, then try removing the power to the pump and test it off 12 volts directly to the battery with a fuse in line (just buy one). Apparently there is a relay that is part of a fuse box that goes for about $1,500 to get replaced. If you can get the pump to run with the temp wire, then I would go and buy a relay (like for running off road lights), fuse it, and find a hot wire that is only on when the truck is on, and just hot wire the darn thing. Good luck!

Which fuse is it? None of the fuses in the TIPM say fuel pump. I have a 2007 1500 5.7L

Wow, some really sketchy advise being thrown around on the forum!
