Default 2006 Ram 1500 5.7 Electrical Issue

I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Mega Cab with a 5.7 Hemi. The truck starts fine and will shift into reverse with no issue but when i shift into drive the engine shuts off. If i unplug the alernator wires then the truck will shift into drive and all is good. I replaced the alternator and battery but this has not fixed the problem. Any help is appreciated.

When you say WIRES, you mean the 2 pin connector, correct ?

The best I can figure is you have a wiring problem in the harness. Need to see if any DTCs are setting and try to find commonality with the field coil circuit.

Sorry, (Diagnostic Trouble) Codes in the PCM or TCM. SO we can look for related issues and try to track it down.

The check engine ligth is not on. I have checked for any codes problems but everything checks out good. I am looking for a bad wire or something like that now.
