Need help!! Riding down the road and primary battery heats up and blows the caps off. refill and go on. A few days later, same thing. Bought and installed 2 new batteries. 200 yards down the road, same thing . THIS time it throws a code. p2609. EMC power input intermmitant. Where do I start? Alternator or wiring harness at the EMC? Already made the expensive mistake of buying and installing a new ECM! ( wife AIN'T happy!!) Anyone else with this problem?Thanks in advance folks!

 

Check output voltage at the alternator. Sounds like it is overcharging.
