KYB Strut plus on 08 1500
Heys fells, I recently purchased a set of KYB strut plus assemblies for my 08 1500 4x4. The strut assemblies came side specific. When I attempted to put them on myself I found the lower strut bolts was seized so I took the truck to a shop and for 300.00 bucks they installed them. Now two months later the truck is leaning 1.5" low on the drivers side. After inspection I found that they had reversed the driver and passenger sides. The drivers side coil is visibly compressed more. Why are the ranchos KYBs etc side specific and could the swap be causing the lean? And is it that big of a deal to have them reversed? The shop wants to argue they are reversible when I specifically showed and told them they are not. The truck drives worse now on rough roads then it did with a busted strut. Thanks for any help!
Suggest to the shop that having the instructions specifically state the struts are side specific, implies they are NOT interchangeable, and if necessary, you will take it to another shop to have them changed, and then have your lawyer collect the cost from them, including legal fees.
