hello everyone i need help i have figured the noise coming from my engine is coming from my flex plate it makes a clunking noise i seen a few videos saying it was there flex plate so i was just wondering is there a inspection window ? so i could just look and see?
secondly if i have to replace flex plate can i do it with the transmission in or do i have to take the tranny out?
help is greatly appreciated thank you in advance

 

Should be an inspection plate between engine and trans. Likely have to pull the starter as well, to get it off.

If the flexplate needs changed, either the trans, or the engine, will need to come out.

 

Will there be enough room to tighten the bolts if there just loose? I’m Going check it now

 

If the torque converter bolts are loose, yeah, you should be able to get those. If the flexplate bolts are loose, same deal, engine or trans needs to come out.

 

Can i use a tranny from a 2004 dodge ram 1500 5.7 just swap wit my 2005 ? Are the parts compatible? The 2004 is 5.7 he'll also same as mine that's y I'm asking
