Question FRONT AXLE SEALS 4x4 2002 1500

Has anyone else had this problem. My Ram has a 5.9 auto 9.25 gears.Trying to find front diff seals. Gone to Dodge, every auto store around and online. They keep coming up with the same seals that are too small. The seal they give me is 1.3?? I.D. on the seal and on my cv axle the O.D. is bout 1.829. a big diff. I spent a couple hours at the dealer, even asks them to check on the 2500 + 3500 they say all show the same #. Parts store's even pulled out new cv joint axle's and they had the same O.D. as mine 1.828 to 30.They've all checked the Vin # still shows the wrong seal. I don't get it. Thanks for any help, I can't be the only one thats had this problem! Dave

What year is your truck? Gas, or diesel? What weight rating?

thats kind of weird. i did a seal on an 03 with the c205f front axle and the cv output on the axle used the seal they are trying to sell you. maybe you got a special combo with it being a 2002? i would call a deal and give them your vin number and see what front axle/cv combo your truck has. on a side note i replaced the seal on the 03 and the dang thing still leaked but it was better then before. good luck

I see two different seals, depending on size of the ring gear. Any idea which one ya got?

I got it, I pulled it apart and found out what my problem was (it was me) from just looking at it b4 pulling the wheels off, it looked like the cv joint axles went in to the seals. once I got a good look at it, I see it doesn't. So it was my screw up. I always try to get my parts ahead of time, but I should have looked closer and I would have seen how it hooked to the axle. I've always had straight axles on my other trucks so this was new to me. Even at 60 I'm still learning . Sorry about this and thanks for all ur help.
