Trying to decide what is the best overall Tonneau cover vs best overall Truck Cap to get for my 1500 QC?

I'm trying to keep the price low if possible. I've got other stuff to buy for my Brandi.

i went with a soft tonno cover because i have a tool box, had to get it cistom ordered from the factory in the sizes i need.

 

Personally, I like the hard tonneau. The cap reminds me of 2 things: 1-work and 2-the old aluminum made ones, even though the new ones are looking light years ahead of the ones they had 5-10 years ago.

What is the purpose of said top as the function will follow form here.

 

I bought a soft tonneau because if I ever carried any oversized cargo, I wouldn't have a place to stash a hard tonneau, like a garage. I've seen a few rams with caps and they look alright, I guess its all what you plan to do with it. I heard they add as much as 500 lbs to a truck's overall weight. I am just trying to stay light. I'll wish I had a cap though when it comes time for me to move again. When I have a place of my own, I'll probably switch and buy a hard tonneau.
