2005 dodge ram 1500 5.7l hemi daytona edition

I can figure out why my front dif wont engage when i put my floor selector to 4hi or 4 low.
The transfer case shifts properly the front drive shaft turns and i can get the lower gearing with 4 low but the front doesnt do anything.
i dont see any kind of actuator or anything please help.

What leads you to believe it isn't working?

If it's just the light not coming on in the dash, have you checked the switch in the t-case?

Didnt even realize there is supposed to be a dash light. I can tell that the front isnt spinning when im trying to drive in 4 hi or low. I fishtail and having somone watch the front tires didnt move as the rear spun. Is there an actuator on these trucks?

Yours is independent front suspension, isn't it? I don't *think* there is an actuator up front.... But, I don't know for sure......

That same thing happened to me with my 2001 Dodge. I replaced the vacuum solenoid and it cured the issue.

There is no actuator on the front differential. The front CV axles, diff, and driveshaft are always on, full time. They turn because the ground turns the wheels and the wheels turn the shafts.
If you are not getting power/torque to the front wheels, the problem is in the transfer case. You need to troubleshoot the transfer case to determine why it is not engaging the front output. Could be a damaged shift fork, could be a faulty actuator or encoder, could be .....
