Default Brake Problems Story

Well I own a 2004 Dodge ram sport 4door with the hemi. Yes a common truck. I just hit 20,000 miles and do you want to guess how many brake jobs I have had done at the dealer?..........Okay 7. This is the following brake jobs

4000 miles need new pads and front rotors
7000 miles it need turned rotors all aroud
10000 miles replaces caliburs, rotors, and pads
12500 miles the rotors get turned
15000 miles the replace off the them again and tear down my drivetrain (e.g. rear end and trans)
16000 Rotors are warped again
18000 New Pad and turned rotors

I have never towed or plowed with this truck either. So I turn this in as a Lemon and under New York state law they claim that this didnt decrease the value of the truck and I have to keep it. So I am going to get free brake jobs until they say no more then turn the truck in for a new one. Other than that I love the truck

Thats crazy.. Dident they have a similar problem back in 93-94 when the new body style came out? About the truck not being worth less with your problem, ask them if they will explain to the new owner that he will have to do pads, rotors and calipers every 3000 miles... I am pretty sure no one will want a truck like that.. Lemon that thing, it should not be allowed to hit a "Used" lot and become someone elses problem..

Bite the bullet. Buy PowerSlot rotors and Hawk brake pads and ditch those crappy factory brake parts. I know, you should not have to do that. After two brake jobs within 18,000 miles, I made the switch and have not had a problem since.

Sorry, but my guess is heavy foot on hot brakes at speed, possibly from drafting in city driving.

Well Dodge is still paying for the brake jobs so i cant complain there. I get a free rent a car, so i test alot of the new dodge cars. As far as riding the brakes or heating them up, i dont. My old car (1995 pathfinder 4wd) has had 2 brake jobs in 160,000 miles. And I baby my ram too much. But the brakes usually go after a long trip (500 miles or more). The time the tran and rear end were torn down, they flew in a chrysler rep to check it out b/c i mentioned lemon. They had the truck for 15 days that time. But I love the truck, just wanted to share my story.

Jeez is that scary. You should squeeze (pun intended) Dodge for all they will give you. At first I thought you might have been a hypochondriac with your truck but I don't think they fly in company big shots for people who see problems that don't exist. Good luck getting it solved instead of just fixed.
