Default 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 driver's side headlamp bulb

The driver's side (factory) headlamp bulb seems different from the H13 bulb on the passenger's side. (Either that, or the base of the bulb is designed to separate from the bulb, and the base is stuck in the wiring socket).

The driver's bulb in my RAM 1500 has multiple electrical prongs at the base, but no grey plastic shroud. It also has a female circular ring of tiny plastic teeth that fit into the male ring of plastic teeth (stuck ??) in the wiring socket.

The headlamp socket will not fit onto a new, stock H13 headlamp bulb because of the male ring of teeth in the socket.

Did Dodge make a different bulb for the '07 driver's side ? Could the old shroud be stuck in the electrical socket ? If so, how do I release the old shroud from the wiring socket ?
