Default how many wheel speed sensors ( ABS sensors ) are on a 2005 dodge ram 1500

Hello,

i´m Lars and new at this forum and i come from germany. ( please - sorry for my english )

i have to replace the wheel ub on the left front wheel.

i have a 2005 dodge ram with awd and rear wheel abs.

now i find only on the front left wheel hub the abs sensor.

but in the haynes repair manual is saying off two sensors ... on each wheel one of the sensor.

i have no control lamps on ... the brakes is ok, the abs is doing what it should do.

at the germany chrysler shop/repair shop they can not help ...

they want to have the car for a long time to try out and look after all !!!

may be one of the members could help with informations.

should i have a second wheel sensor ... on each front wheel one of these soensor ??

Kind regards

Lars

I think the single wheel speed sensor in front is for cruise control, and the like. If you need to replace that hub, get one with the sensor. Should be golden.

My truck is one year older, 2004. For speed sensors it has:
- sensor on front wheel hub left side (drivers side)
- no sensor on the front wheel hub right side (passenger side). Also, there is no place on that side to connect one. The hub may actually have a sensor in it, but there is no plug for it. For example when I last replaced the hub on mine, I got one with the sensor simply because of availability and price. The one with the sensor was cheaper and they had it in stock when I needed it.

Not positive at this moment on these next ones as it has been a couple months since I've been under the truck, there could also to be
- two sensors on the transfer case
- one sensor on the transmission
- one one the rear differential
