Default Dana 60 Performance Differential in '04 Ram 1500?

I've been trying to figure out how to bulletproof the drivetrain in my '04 Ram 1500, and I found this:

https://www.4wheelparts.com/Drivetra...pn=MOPP5155083

It's apparently designed for military jeeps. It's 5x5.5 wheels already, requires 17" to clear the brake rotors/calipers and it is already 4.10 ratio 35 spline. So it's setup for leaf springs (like my 04 1500).

Is there a way to put a Dana 44 in the front and upgrade my transfer?

Going to a solid axle in front would be a major undertaking, and require a great deal of fab work. If you have the know-how, and the facilities, its certainly doable, but, if you have to pay someone else to do it..... well, I hope you have a REALLY fat wallet.

****, it'd be cheaper to get the Dana 60 from an SRT truck and put that in. Usually not any more than $1000 and almost a straight bolt in except for the driveshaft. Top mount spring Dana from the quad cabs come with 4.56's, the reg cab versions have the springs flipped (lowered from the factory) and some come with 4.10's

I came across this awhile back when looking at options for mine. ....... for reference or just to get some ideas.
I decided to live with the 3.92 until pinion bearings and axle bearings finally wear out and need changing. Then I will change to 4.56s. Darned truck just keeps on trucking without any problems tho. Oh-oh, "jinx" - maybe, hopefully!
