Default Rear axle bearing

I just got a 2003 2500. The axle bearings are grinding a lot. Do I have to remove the tire to change out the rear axle bearing? Does it have a rear seal?

Full floating rear axle?

You don't *have* to remove the tire, but, it sure makes it easier......

I suspect though, that if you have rear disc brakes, then yes, you need to remove the tire.
