power seat wiring
Apparently there are a multitude of wiring possibilities when converting from manual to power seats.I'm swapping out a manual seat in my 2003 Ram 1500 Quad Cab and replacing it with a (possibly 2004) power drivers seat. Under the existing seat is a square plug with 5 wires inbound, 2 outbound at the connection, for the seatbelt. That plug has R/b,O/r, pur/g, B, b. (Capital indicates heavier gauge)
The power seat plug has R, g/r, b/r, Y/r, B.
If I connected them, this is the way they'd match up:
g/r to pur/g
Y/r to B
R to r/b
R/b to O/r
B to B
My question: is this a "plug 'n' play" despite wiring color changes? Or should I get two service manuals to determine what goes to where? I have read seemingly dozens of questions about the same swap, but haven't found out anything about the wiring. Thanks in advance.
