Default Outside Tire Wear

I've got a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi. I have had quite a bit of front end work done to the truck in January and seem to have bad outside tire wear on both front tires. It is smooth not cupped wear. The trucks doesnt pull to either side drives nice and straight. Could this be caused by a bad tire alignment? Shocks and control arms are still original, outer tire rods were not changed but the inner tie rods were changed. Lower driver side ball joint was changed passenger steering knuckle was changed. Sway bar bushings changed.

Any Ideas?

When is the last time it had an alignment? Sounds like a toe, or camber problem to me.

When all the work was done in January, the dealership did an alignment then.

I would have a chat with 'em, and see what they have to say. They may or may not check it under warranty for ya.

just bc it was aligned doesn't mean the alignment correct...bad compensation means the alignment numbers aren't worth the paper they are printed on. measure the toe with a tape measure...you should have 1/16 to 1/8" toe in. I would suspect with outside edge wear its toed in to much.

If your running large oversized tires...the factory toe in spec isn't enough...you need more toe in as the wide tires tend to pull toe out more.

I will check the toe believe it has factory tires on the factory 20inch rims.

I had a Ford sometime back that that happened to, it was a wheel bearing that was the problem but it wasn't real bad not a lot of movement but enough to take out my tires in the front. Good luck
