still over heating?

Default still over heating?

I made a trip to Detroit from Columbus Ohio, I changed the oil before leaving and neglected to fill radiator, I had a slow leak before. upon arriving back to Columbus, my truck ran hot on a way to a job, gauge jumped all the way up and steering got tight, I was only a mile away from a gas station, so I pulled over, used a hose filled up the radiator and tried to make it up to the gas station. I didn't make it far and my belt seized up on me. I got the vehicle towed to my apartment. when the belt seized up it blew the water pump. so once I got it back I went on you tube to see how to change water pump. I installed new pump, thermostat and belt. when I tried to start it up again it is still running hot on me. I did not let the air out. is there something im missing. I need help. there is no leak in my radiator it is holding fluid.

There is going to be a significant air pocket when you first start it up. Need to burp all the air out of the system, and see if temp stabilizes.
