06 Ram hood, @ the outside latch under the hood, I lift up but it doesn’t Release the Latch. I can see it thru the grill slats and the Latch doesn’t move, to release the hood. Help. 06 Ram Quad Cab, 4x4, 5.7 hemi.
Answer: use a 3-4ft wood or metal rod. Come up under Bumper, in front of Radiator. Push up on (drivers side) of Latch-Next to the Release Rod (that comes up from bottom/front of hood). Use a persuader to Tap it up. It will eventually loosen and pop open. Now, spray with penetrating oil & keep working it up & down (no not that) until it loosens up. When it moves easily add Grease to All Parts (no not that yet). Now she should be purring like a kitten.
Go back to the Honey �� Dew List and latter that night (yes, now) she will be purring, too. A good day 4 all.��
