mpg on 3.7 question
Yeah that's what the dealer said. Wait until 20,000 before seeing the mpg benefits. I'm at 20,500, with 20's 15mpg. Do more research, if you have the 30-day money back guarantee, I suggest you get an 8. But do more research, ask around, dont just take my word for it because I have one and I get horrible numbers and have lack of power. Yes people will tell you, change the gears, add a CAI, change the exhaust, add a chip/wire, but do you have to go through all that? We should sue Dodge for those f'ing lying sticker numbers.
i actually got my car weighed and it weighed 4600lb just to let ya no not quite 5000 haha - im so mad im 17, and was expectin the v6 to give me great gas mileage, im gettin 13mpg now and would do anythin to swap it for a hemi. anythin! but it has to be cheap. i have an exhaust and im lookin at gettin a k&n cold air intake too see if i can get an improvement - its got 63,000 miles and is an 02. cant wait to raise the front 3 inches[8D]
Yeah I'm pretty sure there isn' t a 30 day return. They didn't have another v8 short bed even near my price range anyways the rest were longbeds. I'm pretty happy with mine so far. I don't mind the power but remember I have the 3.55 gears and also a regcab 6 speed manual. I'm sure with the quad cab I would hate it, there is no reason to put a v6 in the quad. eltupac is yours a regcab or quad? Anyone know the weight of a 2003 Durango? My roomate has one with the 4.7 and he gets 11-12 mpg.
I feel bad for you guys, my 5.7 with superchips, at3030 muffler and volant CAI gets about 20-22 highway and 16 or so city. I almost bought the v6 for mileage purposes but then decided the 5.7 could move the truck the easiest and I could have more fun
Yeah, yeah. Thanks for the spirit lifting words.
Yous got the MDS and an overhead computer. I'm sure if I had an overhead computer, it would tell me 19hwy 16city.Me, personally, dont trust overhead computers.[:@]

Yeah I don't really trust the over head comp either so when I fill up I do the math as well and it's normally about 15 city and 18 highway. I havent done any full highway trips yet so I think it will get a little better. However, those numbers are driving normally, when I drive it like a hemi I get like 12 MPG
I have been keeping an eye on gas milage with the 3.7 and six speed and am around 17.6 mpg for the last tank. I put in Mobil 1 5w-30 last week during the first oil change and will check again when I refill. In contrast, this month's car and drive had a writeup on along term test of a Toyota Tacoma maxi cab, with the six cylinder, and it only got 18 mpg during the 40k mile test period.
'07 S.W.B., 2wd, auto trans. Truck now has 343 miles on it. Filled up for the first time last night and it was 15.6 mpg! That SUCKS! My 1988 Chevy 4X4 with auto trans and a 305 V-8 will get 14! And this little pipsqueak V-6 gets 15mpg!I called my dealer and told him where he could stick it. And he did. Right up my *&& ! Sideways too! Traded for it Saturday, He took my trade in to the auction on the next Tuseday! Arrrrggghhhh[:@]
