Hey guys,

I have a 2005 Ram 1500 Hemi with 145,000 miles. The last 2 days I have been hearing a knock/tick coming from behind the cup holder in the cab. She only makes noise when moving. She idles fine and there is no loss of power. Can't hear the knock when the windows are down and I put my head outside. The knock also gets faster the faster I go.

Any help would be appreciated.

 

That's odd. The only thing I can think of would be a blend door actuator making noise in the hvac ductwork. Perhaps the air pressure coming in thru the cowl is adding pressure to a blend door and it is trying to move back into the proper position??

 

Turns out that the bushings on my transfer case control lever had dry rotted causing the control lever to dangle around. Lucky I didn't lose her though.
