Hhhhmmm...... You would have to trick the computer into doing it..... maybe a circuit with a resistor in it, that will give you a little bit more voltage than what the tps feeds the computer at idle? (on the tps circuit, of course) Make the PCM think you are actually stepping on gas a bit? (or, in the pedal position sensor circuit, if your truck is drive-by-wire.)

My thoughts on the matter, based on what I've read and what other people have done IE tap into the power steering, are that you could tap into the APPS circuit, and add either a switched resistor, or a potentiometer to emulate the APPS.

then taking that a little further, I'm thinking that if I grab another APPS and part of the harness for it, that I could tap into my existing APPS and essentially replicate a second pedal.

Im still doing some digging but it looks like the APPS uses TWO potentiometers to get it's value, despite what the manual says, because it has 2 power pins, and 2 circuits for throttle control. So it's most likely 2 pots, one adjust voltage from 0-5V and the other adjusts voltage from 5 - 0V, with the PCM using both values as a sort of failsafe measure.

I think I might eventually pickup an APPS from the wreckers or a new one when I get some time and money....
