06 4.7 Power/Shifting Problems
Here's the rundown. 2006 Dodge Ram SLT 4x4 4.7L 146k auto.
There's a few things going on if anyone can help me out. First, the truck would randomly die at a stop light but start right back up. There seems to be no top end power (yeah 4.7 I know) but it feels like it's just boggy and just doesn't want to go. I have to put it to the floor to climb a hill or to shift up in general trying to pass on the highway. Recently had a little "jerk" while driving but is very periodic.
I've changed O2 sensors before the CAT and before the throttle body. I've changed all plugs, knock sensor, cam sensor, TPS, new air filter and cleaned throttle body. All seemed to help, but symptoms are still there. I'm wondering if it is a bad CAT, bad transmission or have a vacuum leak somewhere I can't find but have no way to tell at home. I've heard Dodge's don't like aftermarket sensors and could go bad fast. I don't know if a tranny flush has ever been done, I've had the truck a year. And every other person I ask about a flush says don't do it on high mileage trannys that have never had it before. Any suggestions would be great.

There's no rough idle or anything, but I'll check the ICV. Hasn't happened in a few days though. I didn't think about the fuel pump going out and who knows if it's ever been replaced. TC is good, moves fine without brake applied.
I'll check the fuel pump this week and let you know. But still no CL. Only time it's came on was for O2 sensor and once changed it went away. Also not showing any codes when you do the manual key code check. I figured bad fuel pump would throw a code.

I've got an '05 4.7 with 130k and had a similiar issue. Very intermittently, my engine would stumble and stall when I came rolling to a stop at low idle (before engine warmed up). One day it finally threw a check engine light which I read and determined to be indicating a failing EGR valve.
I reset the code, bought a new EGR valve, and have been driving around with it in my backseat ever since 🙃 The problem is too infrequent and doesnt bother me enough to swap the part, and interestingly my check engine light has not returned, so I presume my EGR *mostly* works. I'm not convinced your lack of power needs to be related to stalling, but if you're stalling at low idle it's worth thinking about that valve. I also feel like this truck is lacking in power when I'm towing but the previous owner put slightly bigger than stock tires on it and that's what I've attributed it too so far
