Just started replacing the 2nd set of plugs in 03 Hemi with 145.xxx miles. I changed out the originals when I bought the truck in 2009 with 113,000 miles. So only 32,000 miles on the plugs, but they've been in there for 9 years. But $28.00 for 16 Champion 570's is a bargain. So I removed the 1 st two on drivers side and noted the gap had widened to .055 as opposed to factory specs of .045. So if one chose not to replace the plugs and simply re-gap the 32,000 mile plugs, would there be any negative effects?
Just replace. They're cheap and you know you'll be good with no question. You're already there. There's more that goes on than just widening and some of which you may not be able to see.
Yes I am changing them out. But you answered my question as there is more degradation in the plug than just the gap between electrode and ground over the course of time and mileage.
