Default Lift kit recomendations...

I want to lift a 2wd Ram 1500 QC. The questions I have is, how big of a tire can I fit with a 3" body lift with the stock 20" rims, and how big of a tire can I fit with a 6" suspension lift on the stock 20" rims. How will the truck look with the 3" body lift or 6" sus. lift? Any pictures would help.

Thanks
Kurt

I have a 6" suspension lift on my 2wd ram, and right now I'm running the stock 20's with the stock tires. I know that 35" tires will fit with a 6" suspension lift, you just have to be careful with the width of the tire. I've noticed in my own research, a lot of tire manufacturers that make 35's, make them 13.5" wide. I've learned that this is too wide if you are going to stick with the stock 20's due to rubbing issues. As for the 3" body lift, I think that I have heard of people putting 35's on with that setup but I am not for sure.

How much did the lift alone cost you, labor and parts?

The lift was $1,200 and if I'm not mistaken they charges me $400 to install it.

Wow, that's not as bad as I expected.. Labor cost I mean.. Looks awesome.. I am going to get the 6" lift for my 03 1500 QC, and a set of rims (not sure on what kind yet, leave any suggestions) with 35x 12.5 - 17...

Ext: My truck has 3.55's in the rear.. If I am going to lift and add a set of 35's what gear ratio should I go with? 3.92's? 4.10's???

get the 4.56's.. thats the gear ratio for 35" tires. as far as the lift goes get a 3" body and 6" fabtech with a set a 36" superswamper iroks they look meaty and could fit a 20" rim.
good luck and post pic when possible.

I dont need both a suspension lift and a body lift. I am going to stick with a 17" rim as I don't like the look of the big wheels with a lift. I like the look of beefy tires, plus I am going to be offroading through some rigorous stuff when I go Fishing in the Sierra Mountains and hunting, those big rims would taco with swift slam against a boulder.

Anyone ever heard of the kit offered by top gun customs on ebay?

Just wondering how the ride would be and also I tow a 6000# boat and trailer. Any issues with trailering when lifting 6"?

Thanks
