Question for those who swapped from 3.92 to 4.56 gears
actually for a rear gear change you do not need to recalibrate your speedo in our trucks... the vss runs of the wheel not the transmission like it does on most vehicles, so you only need to recalibrate when you change tire height... You should recalibrate anyway, because it throws off your ABS system, but your speedo is unaffected by rear end gear swaps.
yes... dodge does not make any gears higher than 3.92 so they will have to be aftermarket. You can put a stock or aftermarket LSD in your housing just fine, just so long as you FM. Mine cost about 800 to do. LSD changes the drivin charecter of the truck... you launch harder, and get better traction on dirt but the truck tends to develop a little more power oversteer.
ive got 3.55 in my truck. how much change would it be to go with 4.56. i know that i would have to get my speedo redone. but are there any other things that would have to be done.

After the install I had the dealer flash the pcm with the new "pinion factor" as they call it for $70.
