Starter clicking while cranking
Hey Guys,
My starter is clicking while it cranks. Cranking seems a little bit slower than normal, but still cranks and starts. Battery is less than a year old. This is a junk yard starter that I've had for about 6 months, (the old one had a bad spot and would randomly not crank). I crawled back under to ensure tight connections, and I didn't see an issue. Should I replace it again?

The source of your problem is most likely the starter or the battery. You should test the battery voltage with the battery static, during start, and with the engine running. Voltage should be 12.6 static, 13.7 to 14.7 with engine running, and not drop below 10 volts during start.
If the battery is good then the starter is probably on it's way out.

Starters are very easy to rebuild. Check Nations Auto Electric for a rebuild kit. The one I bought for my 2nd Gen came with heaver duty lugs, which I guarantee would keep the starter in service for 30 years.
