Default Puzzling abs

2007 1500 4x4, just behaves like it has no abs. The light comes on when the key is turned. Very slippery today and it just doesn’t trigger. Background info, I put a used pcm in this truck because a coil driver died in the original. I bought the truck with the bad pcm so I can’t comment on how it worked prior. Input would be great. Thanks

Did you have the new PCM flashed to the correct VIN?

I’m going to say yes cause it’s been a while (3yrs) and I think I recall when I first swapped the new pcm in I could actually see both the truck vin and the donor pcm vin on a scan tool. I paid someone to marry the modules. He used my existing skim. I have no other functionality issues.

Mildly curious about trying the original pcm to see what happens.

Did the PCM donor have the same ABS you do? (4wal vs. Rwal?)

I actually don’t have the answer to that. The best I can do at this point would be to check the pcm’s are the same part numbers. Not to say the same pcm can’t have a different flash.

At the time I had no clue not all 2007 1500 4x4 rams had the same abs.

If abs is the only incompatibility, I have no problem living with it as it does nothing annoying other than not work.

If I am overlooking something simple then I would like to make it work.

I got the truck for next to nothing because it was diagnosed as needing a head gasket. All it needed was a pcm and a water pump.

Yeah, I don't know if just looking at the part number will be adequate to the task...... I suspect ABS is part of the programming. I don't know if simply plugging in with a scanner would cough up that bit of info either.
