Default 2006 Dodge 3500 4X4 diesel

I engaged my four wheel drive today to get out of the snow, It engaed fine and worked with no problem. when I parked the truck. I noticed oil was on both front rims. I took it to a shop and the tech said that it was because I havent used it for a while and once I use it it will lube up and wont leak. I don't think that is as simple as the tech said .
Any advice would be great.

Thanks In Advance

You 06 has full time hubs, so your front axle is always turning, and even if you had lock out hubs and the axle only turned with the hubs engaged what the tech said still wouldn't be true. It sounds like your inner axle seals are leaking, like any other seal they wear out over time and leak, regardless of how much you do or don't use 4x4.
