Piston rings
I am rebuilding 08 dodge 5.7 Hemi engine. Installed new pistons and rings, dressed crank, standard bearings, torqued rods and mains. As I turn crank by hand to make sure everything turns right, I notice in a couple holes the rings seem to be scaring the piston walls. What’s wrong?
Are you lubing the cylinders at all, as you should prior to turning by hand. If it is lubed up is the scaring just lines up and down the cylinder walls? If so maybe the rings had burrs on them.
Also,
Did the rings have a top side notation and were they installed correctly?
