Default Nv3500 swap 4.7 ADVICE NEEDED!!

HI, everyone I'm new to the forum but I've visited it alot over the years. But here's what's going on I have a 2003 Ram 1500 4wd has about 120,000 miles very sentimental. Was my dad's but he has passed. So I've gone through 2 45rfes. Both have done the same think driving fine then BAM nothing no gears just like it's in neutral. Yes I've checked the pickup tubes on both not it, plugs ects. Anyways I just bought a parts truck with a 2003 2wd 4.7 nv3500. What will I need to do with the nv3500 to make my 4wd work. I've heard that auto transfer cases have different spline count. Haven't heard about bolt pattern. Also heard that 2wd and 4wd nv3500 have different spline counts too. So what will I need to do with the tailhousing. I plan on getting all new clutch and flywheel kit. Getting my drive shafts extended and or shortened. Will my crank position sensor still be good to work with different flywheel? All the help to complete this project is greatly appreciated.

The tail housing is going to be totally different, quite likely the trans output shaft is going to be different as well. (probably the same spline count, but, different length.) If the trans is a one-piece case, you won't be able to use it at all.

I'm more than willing to rebuild trans to make it a 4wd. But what transfercase will I need and with the length can always cut it with a band saw.

Does the tailhousing actually unbolt from the trans? If it does, you *might* be able to just swap it. If it's a one-piece case, you simply cannot use it.
