Question 3rd gen 4.7l auto to manual swap help?

I've got an 04 dodge ram 1500 4.7l, and I love standards. So ive got a deal in the making for a nv3500 out of a 03 4.7l ram. The guy is giving me everything off the truck for the swap, my main issue and question is that his is a 4x4, mines a 2wd. I've done a good bit of search about swapping the tail shaft out for a 2wd tailshaft but seems its alot of work and have to literally take the entire trans apart. So would it hurt to just use the 4x4 trans and leave the transfer case under my truck disconnected? I know waiting to find a 2wd is probably best, but he's giving me the trans with only 100k miles on it and every thing to do with the swap PCM wiring harness driveshafts everything for only 1k. any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

You will need a shorter driveshaft if you leave the t-case on...... Not sure of any other problems associated with doing it that way.

Shouldn't hurt anything, provided the drive shaft is the correct length for it.
